summary for 10th anniversary on 29.05.13 -
-open for extensions and amendments-
Created because of passion for chess…
but; „Why simply play, if its possible to make
it more complicated, …?“, thought; Stefan Haack and Kai Strempel
when they start to
write the first code for our current Chessmail ,in September 2001.
It should promote in communication and fun, completely opposite to stereotypical chess game.
They have worked and on 29th May 2003,
Chessmail.de finally stepped into w.w.w. for the first time.

Technical Development:
Till Version 1.9:
Chessmail was programmed in Java and uses Jakarta Struts for implementing . Server is a Tomcat.
Chessmail uses JUnit to make sure a proper functionality.
From Vers. 2.0:
Basis is Spring Framework with Spring MVC now. The MySQL database is connected with ORM framework Hibernate.
